The DanDoh In The Desert Retreat is all about community.

Immerse yourself for 3 nights 4 days into the world of DanDoh, including lectures, a Mystery Knit Along, a Pop Up Shop, knitting, Japanese culture/craft activities, food, beverages, more knitting, reuniting with old friends, making new friends, sharing ideas and techniques, learning, (did I say knitting?) and building community.

What are DanDoh Activities?

  • 3-Day Mystery Knit Along (all levels)

    The project for our Mystery Knit Along is a small DanDoh Style accessory that you can complete by the end of the retreat and is suitable for all levels. It’s a unique color block accessory knit using two colors of DanDoh Silk + yarn, and incorporates a new knitting technique. You will select your yarn colors during the Registration process

  • Opens 12pm -1pm and After 4pm on Tuesday and Wednesday

The retreat officially starts at 5pm on Monday, and the retreat ends at 1pm on Thursday

$1100 (includes taxes and fees) per person

  • Retreat payment is due in full at booking to confirm your place.

  • This rate doesn’t include a hotel guest room.

  • Registration button will be available here https://www.dandoh.com/retreat on October 30th. Once registered for the retreat, you’ll receive a confirmation email that will include a link to make a hotel reservation with a group rate ($160 plus fees and taxes per night). No payment due to hotel until departure from hotel.

  • If you are local to Chandler no hotel reservation is necessary.

Q & A

Q. What if I want to come to Chandler early or stay later?

Rooms are available at the hotel at our group rate for up to 3 nights before and after the retreat.

Q. I live in the Chandler area. Can I just come for the day?

The retreat is an intensive, all-inclusive experience – a community into knitting, if you will. The rate ($1100) will allow you to attend all the daily activities without staying overnight at the hotel, giving you the getaway feel of the retreat without having to travel.

Q. Can I bring my spouse or non-yarnie friend?

Yes! Friends and family are welcome to join you. They do not have to pay the retreat fee and can share your room and eat meals with you. Your meals are included in the retreat fee. Any guests you bring will have to pay for their own meals. We ask that guests NOT hang out in the conference room with us because there are only enough seats for retreat participants.

Q. Are pets allowed?

Yes! The hotel allows pets additional $75 non-refundable deposit. However, pets are not allowed in our conference room.

Q. Is WiFi available?

Yes! WiFi access throughout the resort.

Q. Can you accommodate my food allergies or restricted diet?

Yes! The hotel provides all food for the retreat. They can work with you on any special dietary needs. For more information, call the hotel at (480) 812-0900.

Q. Do you have any special COVID policies?

We do not. If you are more comfortable wearing a mask, wear one. If not, don’t. We expect all participants to respect the decisions of other participants – even if they don’t agree with them.

 Q. What is your refund policy?

We understand that circumstances sometimes change and you may have to cancel. Because we have numerous expenses to cover even before the retreat starts, we have the following cancellation policy:

If you cancel by January 31st, we’ll refund all but $75 processing fee. After January 31, we do not do refunds unless filled from the wait list. You may transfer your order to another person.

In the unlikely event we cancel the retreat due to circumstances beyond our control (pandemic, national disaster, horribly bad weather, etc.), we will refund all but $75 processing fee, which can be applied to a future retreat.
